The True E Learning approach

e-Learning can cover a spectrum of activities from supporting learning to blended learning (the combination of traditional and e-learning practices), to learning that is delivered entirely online. Whatever the technology, however, learning is the vit al element. e-Learning is no longer simply associated with distance or remote learning, but forms part of a conscious choice of the best and most appropriate ways of promoting effective learning.

JISC, 2004, page 10 Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) (2004). Effective Practice with e-Learning: A Good Practice Guide in Designing for Learning. Bristol: JISC Development Group.

I love this quote as it really gives meaning to what e learning is and how we can incorporate it into our classrooms to make the most of each and every learner and use the most effective tools at the most opportune moments.
